The old, conventional frames due to previous construction technology do not meet today's requirements (energy savings, water tightness, sound insulation, safety, etc.). At Leroy Merlin you can replace your old windows with new certified, energy windows. Replacement is a simple process that is usually completed in one day (if it is an average number of frames in a house), follow the steps below easily and quickly.
Dismantling of an old window
To disassemble, first remove the window leaves (glassware).
Then unscrew the screws with which the frame is attached.
We remove the case details.
Installation of a new window
The new window is delivered ready in its frame and with the glass on the leaves. First we remove the sheets of the frame from the frame.
Apply silicone to the bottom of the opening.
Apply the frame to the opening of the window (open construction). Alfadia, align with the wall and fasten with wedges to the top and side.
The frame is screwed first on one vertical side and then on the rest. Apply polyurethane foam around the perimeter to fill the gaps in the wall and strengthen the frame fixation.
After the foam dries, clean the protruding parts of the polyurethane. We place the joint covers on the inside of the window. Place the frames of the frame (sliding) on the frame or hang them on the hinges (opening).
We check the proper operation of the sheets and adjust as needed. We apply silicone outdoors around the outside of the frame, at the points of contact with the wall.
